Appointed Chief Technology Officer at Fojann Biopharmaceuticals limited in February 2025.
Holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Biology from Tsinghua University, a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Princeton University, and completed postdoctoral research at Washington University in St. Louis.
Dr. Feng is a Principal Investigator (PI) and doctoral supervisor at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences, Fudan University.
Dr. Feng focuses on studying the early development mechanisms of gut microbiota and their regulatory roles in host development. Her prior research utilized infant-derived gut bacterial strains and germ-free mouse models to investigate the decisive factors in the early succession process of gut microbiota, discovering that "host selection" rather than the "order of bacterial inoculation" determines the adaptability of gut microbiota within the host (PNAS, 2020). Other research findings have been published in journals such as Cell, EMBO Journal, and Chemical Science. In 2016, she received the Helen Hay Whitney Foundation-Simons Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship from the USA. In 2015, she received the Nat. Sternburg Thesis Prize-Honorable Mention. In 2014, she received the Outstanding Doctoral Student Award from the Department of Molecular Biology at Princeton University, USA.
