Roland is recognized as a leader in computational omics for cancer and life sciences in Europe and beyond, and is also Director of the Center for Digital Health at Heidelberg University Hospital and Charit University.
In 2018, he was elected a member of the German Academy of Sciences, and in 2022, he was selected as "the world's most influential researcher" by the Krivangor Citation Scholars Program. He has published more than 700 scientific papers, including many CNS papers on Cell, Nature, Nature Medicine, etc., and has been cited more than 75,000 times with an H-factor score of 114.
